  • Molasses Solution
  • Sugar Solution
  • Honey
  • Electrolytes

1. Apple Cider Vinegar:

The first home remedy I would like to mention is the apple cider vinegar. Because it has an active ingredient called acetic acid. It is capable of lowering the pH and killing many pathogens.

If your chicken is suffering from respiratory disease, you should clear it’s mucous. In this case, apple cider vinegar can be a great help for you. If they are suffering from sour-crop, the acidity will be balanced again by the effect of vinegar.

Take 2 liters of water and add a maximum of 50 ml of vinegar. You can give this mixture to your chickens for 2/3 days to drink as water.

Under any circumstances, you shouldn’t give them straight vinegar because straight vinegar is so harmful to chickens’ health.

2. Molasses Solution:

You can give molasses to your chicken as a natural supplement of mineral. It also acts as a gentle laxative. When your chicken is suffering from any bacterial disease, molasses could relieve them for a while.

The molasses’ quantity should be only ΒΌ cup and mix it in 2 liters of warm water. You can give this to chickens for 5 hours. After that, you should not provide it to them anymore.

3. Sugar Solution:

When your chickens are so sick and weak that they can’t even move properly, then you should think about giving them some glucose to boost their energy. It is highly essential, especially for newborn chicks in some cases.

Take 2 cups of warm water and add 1 oz of table sugar to it. Stir it properly and serve it to your chicken. You can give it to them regularly until they feel better.

4. Honey:

The next home remedy is quite popular. Yes, it’s honey, and it comes with so many health benefits for everybody. It helps the chicken to reduce the swollen tissues as due to its effect, the excess body fluids draw out. If your chickens are facing swollen prolapsed tissue, giving honey will make them feel better.

The application process is pretty much simple here. You need to smear honey on the swollen area. Within 1 hour, you’ll see some improvements.

5. Electrolytes:

The last but not the least home remedy I am going to discuss today is electrolytes. There are some health benefits of electrolytes. They can help your chickens to make a quick recovery from the illness.

When you notice that your chickens are not eating correctly or are suffering from diarrhea or dehydration-related issues, try to add electrolytes to their drinking water. It will make them feel better.

You’ll find readymade electrolyte mixes for the bird in the market. Otherwise, you can make it in your home if it’s not available in your local market.
